Vegan Nutrition

One of the most important things I believe strongly about going Vegan is understanding the importance of Vegan nutrition and how to take care of oneself.

When my fiancee and I went Vegan, I made it my goal in the initial months to read as much about Vegan nutrition to make sure that we were getting all the nutrients we needed to help us be happy healthy Vegans. I have come across many individuals who express concern about my health when I tell them that I am a Vegan; and on those occasions I find that I am healthier because of my drive to know and understand basic nutrition.

I have learned that once you go Vegan, you can not eat as you did before as an Omnivore. You can not live off of starches and those accidently Vegan junks foods. Education is the key and I encourage both new and old Vegans to continue learning about nutrition and the wonders our compassionate food groups have to offer!

So far I have come across a few good books that helped in my process of becoming and being a Vegan:

Brenda Davies Becoming Vegan: The Complete Guide to Adopting a Healthy Plant-Based Diet

Joanne Stepaniak The Vegan Sourcebook (Sourcebooks)

I will add more as I continue learning.
